Effective governance structure
Tereos is overseen by a Supervisory Board, responsible for mapping out the Group's strategies, and an Executive Board, respecting the interests of the various cooperative growers.
The Supervisory Board takes the major financial decisions, while the Executive Board's responsibilities include proposing development projects to the Supervisory Board and managing the Group.
Tereos groups together 12 sugar beet cooperatives. Each one of these cooperatives has at least one representative on the Supervisory Board. The cooperatives' boards of directors are provided with regular updates on the Group's strategies and projects. In addition, they meet at least twice a year for general information meetings. In this way, the 200 cooperative directors share the information with the 12,000 cooperative growers and Tereos.
This clear division of responsibilities between the Supervisory and Executive Boards facilitates proactive decision-making, while making it possible to effectively safeguard the interests of the cooperative growers as a whole.
