Effective governance structure
Tereos is overseen by a Supervisory Board, responsible for mapping out the Group's strategies, and an Executive Committee, respecting the interests of the various cooperative growers.
The Supervisory Board takes the major financial decisions, while the Executive Committee's responsibilities include proposing development projects to the Supervisory Board and managing the Group.
Tereos groups together 9 sugar beet cooperatives. Each one of these cooperatives has at least one representative on the Supervisory Board. The cooperatives' boards of directors are provided with regular updates on the Group's strategies and projects. In addition, they meet at least twice a year for general information meetings. In this way, the 162 cooperative directors share the information with the 12,000 cooperative growers and Tereos.
This clear division of responsibilities between the Supervisory and Executive Committee facilitates proactive decision-making, while making it possible to effectively safeguard the interests of the cooperative growers as a whole.
